Getting the ball rolling (About the Author)

Hello, world!

Back in August I started the Master’s of Journalism & Mass Communication program at Arizona State’s Walter Cronkite School.  This blog started off as a class assignment, but I’m really starting to enjoy the therapeutic process of writing blogs and I’m hoping to get to a point where I can post daily.

Anytime you see a post categorized as news, it’s an article I wrote for my print class, so it’s legit news.  Also, it was published nowhere other than here.  So consider yourself lucky, you’ve got special access!

Otherwise, my often incoherent ramblings are usually directed toward my favorite topic which is sports; specifically football; specifically the Dallas Cowboys.  Generally interjected in there will be some mention of the status of my fantasy team (that is quarterbacked by Tony Romo).

I’ve loved the Cowboys since birth, which means I experienced the decadent high-life of the early-mid ’90s and the utter despair from ‘99 to ‘04.  Now that we’re back in championship-contender form, I expect nothing but the best and set my expectations bar high. Subsequently you will notice that many of my posts about them are just as much criticism as praise.  They’re my team and I want them to be perfect, so don’t mistake my jabs at the team or one particular player for fair-weather fanship.  I show my affection by keeping them on their toes (since I’m sure everyone in the locker room has this blog set to his homepage).

Point being, the team is like my younger brother. I’m allowed to make his life miserable, but if you even come close to saying mean things about him, I will hunt you down and air mail you to Abu Dabi.  So don’t get any bright ideas.

Otherwise, please don’t take my political commentary seriously, I am definitely not well-versed enough in the workings of American government to have more than a slight idea of what I’m saying.  Consider it the layperson’s view & subsequent response.  Nothing else.

Well, I hope you enjoy what you find. And if not, hey… you win some and you lose some.
